ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
In this webinar, presenters will discuss the role of a forensic peer specialist and how to implement a forensic peer services model in multiple criminal justice settings for people who have mental health conditions. The webinar will feature speakers from the Hawaii Department of Health, which received an award through the FY19 Second Chance Act Improving Reentry for Adults with Co-occurring Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders grant program, to share insights on how they developed their forensic peer specialist program to support individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and have continued to expand the program.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL REENTRY RESOURCE CENTER
The NRRC was established by the Second Chance Act (Public Law 110-199). Signed into law in 2008 and reauthorized in 2018, the Second Chance Act authorizes federal grants to government agencies and nonprofit organizations to provide reentry services—including employment assistance, substance use treatment, housing, family programming, mentoring, victims support, and other services—and to support corrections and supervision practices that aim to reduce recidivism.
