The National Incarceration Association is calling this press conference in response to recent elevated focus on rising crime rates. It is critical that Georgians make better informed demands for commitments to real solutions with open accountability for measured outcomes.
TWO NEW INITIATIVES
The NIA is launching two reform initiatives to help channel the conversation around rising crime rates toward openly-shared strategies to reduce desperate measures and eliminate the schemes of allowing recycled crime. These initiatives are 1. A problem-solving culture we call “#CarryOnInMyName,” and 2. A campaign we call “If Moms Ran Prisons.”
If Moms Ran Prisons
An actions and innovations campaign to push reforms as informed by the lived experiences of impacted families. To explore and highlight what families say should be done to redirect desperation and erase systemic incubation of repeated criminal and addictive behavior.
#CarryOnInMyName
A mass-informed empathy culture of activism that personalizes individual human loss as a direct consequence of sustaining old, outdated approaches that fail to keep families safe.
EXPANDING PARTNERSHIPS
The NIA also announces its newest working partnerships with the Maverick City Music Initiative and City Takers to combat systematic isolation from truth, hope, and purpose, with devotion, value celebration, and organized action.
