Georgia Department of Corrections will have a meeting on July 15, 2022 for family members and significant others who are on an offender’s approved visitation list. The purpose of this meeting is for family members to meet with Departmental representatives and discuss issues concerning the incarceration of their loved one(s). The Board of Pardons and Paroles will be on-site to discuss parole issues. Offenders are responsible for notifying anyone on their APPROVED VISITATION LIST who may want to register online for this meeting.

1.) How should you prepare for Family Day?
- Prior to arriving, consider what questions you might have and write them down.
2.) What should you expect when you arrive?
- Check-in at Roberts Chapel; please have your ID and the offender’s GDC number readily available
- GDC will have security procedures in place to ensure fast processing, please only bring what is necessary (i.e. pen, paper, ID, keys)
- Family or significant others must be on the offender’s approved visitation list and registered for the meeting
- GDC will issue color-coded numbers, corresponding to the individual/section with whom you wish to speak
- Attendees must remain in Roberts Chapel until number is called
- Once number is called, groups of 15-20 will be ushered to Vinzant Hall
3.) Physical Assistance
- If you require physical assistance, please inform a GDC representative during check-in.
- Individuals who require physical assistance will be driven by security dtaff in an open-air golf cart to Vinzant Hall.
4.) Recommended attire
- We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes. There is a possibility you will be walking or standing for extended periods of time.
5.) Time with GDC representative
- In order to ensure we are able to address the concerns of as many individuals as possible, please try to limit your time spent with a GDC representative to 10 minutes.
- For those who would like to speak with the Commissioner, scheduling will be based on first come, first serve. The Commissioner will see a total of 18 people, with each meeting lasting no more than 10 minutes.
